Kingslayer

Brewed for high strength of 6.8% alcohol with yummy toffee-like malt notes, spicy clove-like phenols, light banana and/or vanilla, and a moderate wheat flavor, combined with a powerful aroma of dark fruit (plums, prunes, raisins or grapes)
  • Alcohol: 6.8%

    Historical background:
A weizenbock is basically a regular german wheat beer brewed with dark malts to a high (or very high) strength. Aventinus, the world’s oldest top-fermented wheat doppelbock, was created in 1907 at the Weisse Brauhaus in Munich using the ‘Méthode Champenoise’ with fresh yeast sediment on the bottom

    Flavor profile:
A complex marriage of rich, toffee-like malt notes, spicy clove-like phenols, light banana and/or vanilla, and a moderate wheat flavor, combined with a powerful aroma of dark fruit (plums, prunes, raisins or grapes). A moderate aroma of alcohol is common. May have a slightly sweet palate, and a light chocolate character is sometimes found, but no roastness.

    Appearance:
Hazy, dark amber to dark, ruby brown in color. A very thick, moussy, long-lasting light tan head is characteristic.

    Brew-master's awesome notes:
One of the most intense beers we will be brewing at Big Pitcher, but still with the sweetness and drink-ability commonly found on the wheat beers.

Food Pairing: Burgers, dal, thick dark curries, steak, pork tandoori, kebabs, lamb dishes (if not too spicy), chocolate desserts, apple pie, chinese (broadly speaking), any roasty, sweet dish and strong meats in general.
